Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed Grade 10 education
Experience: Candidates should have 6 months of experience in institutional cleaning
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to either fully squat or kneel
- The candidates should be capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods
- The candidates should be able to lift and carry 35 lbs

- The candidates should be familiar with disinfection procedures
- The candidates should possess expertise in the stripping and refinishing of floors

- The candidates should be proficient in operating an auto scrubber, floor buffer, and carpet extractor
- The candidates should have the capability to understand and follow directions effectively
- The candidates should be adept at identifying and reporting hazards in the workplace
- The candidates should showcase organizational and prioritization skills for work assignments
- The candidates should be dependable, reliable, and maintain a professional demeanor

- The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa’s satisfaction. Note: Under the age of 18, a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters check is required in place of the Vulnerable Sector Check. Police record checks completed by a third-party company will not be accepted
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist in the planning, coordinated development, management, and implementation of food, nutrition, and environmental activities, programs, services, and initiatives to the residents of a municipal long-term care facility within Hospitality Services
- The candidates should be able to perform housekeeping duties associated with the maintenance of a clean, comfortable, home-like, and safe environment in the Long Term Care Home, with an emphasis on resident safety and engagement
