Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have successful completion of an advanced and/or critical care program
Experience: Candidates should have experience facilitating educational instruction

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable wearing a uniform
  • The candidates should primarily works in a classroom or office setting within the Emergency Response Center but routinely assists at all capacities on emergency calls
  • The candidates will be exposed to encounters with an angry public or hazardous chemicals and contaminated persons

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience facilitating Heart and Stroke adult education sessions
  • The candidates should hold a Pediatric Neonatal Critical Care Transport (PNCCT), Infant Transport Team (ITT), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) designation
  • The candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as with a team and ability to provide a supportive, flexible approach to educating others
  • The candidates should be capable of working with other professionals to exchange work delivery methods and have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • The candidates should obtain Medical clearance is required within 30 days of the start date, an RCMP Vulnerable sector check within 30 days of the start date, CPR-HCP certification within 6 months of hire, and Proof of relevant education and license and/or registration

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as the Yukon EMS Clinical Educator
  • The candidates should be able to plan, coordinate, and deliver continuing medical education to Yukon EMS staff, including remedial education in specific areas
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate scenario-based learning opportunities for staff and volunteers
  • The candidates should be able to design and facilitate the delivery of educational components required for the introduction of new equipment, clinical policies, and clinical guidelines
