Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Seamstress, Millinery
Area of work experience: Alterations, Designing, Repair, Tailoring, Fabrication
Specialization or experience: Green economy sector

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate manual dexterity for tasks requiring precise hand movements, possess hand-eye coordination for precise task execution, and be physically capable of handling demanding tasks
  • The candidates should exhibit strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in their work, and have the ability to distinguish between colors accurately
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their work, and be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as necessary for the job

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should prioritize client needs and satisfaction, exercise good judgment in decision-making, and be reliable in fulfilling their duties and meeting commitments
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances and tasks, maintain organization in their work habits to ensure efficiency and productivity, and be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals
  • The candidates should be hardworking, demonstrating dedication and perseverance in their tasks

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be proficient in garment-making, including making made-to-measure garments, fitting, altering, and repairing garments as needed, and working with fur garments and accessories
  • The candidates should have skills in hat-making, including laying out, cutting, sewing, and pressing materials to create hats
  • The candidates should be adept at using sewing machines or sewing by hand, as well as selecting and modifying commercial patterns to meet specific requirements
  • The candidates should possess pattern-making abilities, able to design patterns to fit measurements accurately
  • The candidates should demonstrate expertise in fabric handling, including marking, cutting, and sewing fabric to create various garments and accessories
