Salary: $35.00 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week

Location: Dartmouth, NS
Shifts: Day
Transportation information: Vehicle supplied by employer and Valid driver’s license
Work setting: Excavation
Supervision: 5-10 people, Heavy equipment operators, except crane, Labourers

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Type of industry experience: Construction, Pipeline construction
Construction specialization: Water mains, Pipelines
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Leadership for safety excellence course, First Aid Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Confined Space Entry Training
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure and be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to handle weight up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to work outdoors

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, dependable, organized, initiative, reliable
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to co-ordinate and schedule activities
  • The candidates should be able to co-ordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers
  • The candidates should be able to ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • The candidates should be able to read blueprints and drawings
  • The candidates should be able to supervise workers and projects
  • The candidates should be able to assist heavy equipment operators
  • The candidates should be able to assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
