Focused on fostering community engagement and cultural preservation, the chapter offers a range of support services, including educational programs, advocacy, and wellness initiatives. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $43,000 to $45,000 annually (To be negotiated) for 35 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 1088 Garrison Road Fort Erie, ON L2A 1N9
Shifts: Day, To be determined
Transportation information: Own transportation and Valid driver’s licence
Target audience:
Aboriginal groups, Children, Families and Females
Work setting: Women’s drop-in centre, Aboriginal band council, Social service or charity agency, Community service organization, Community agency 

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Computer and technology knowledge: Desktop publishing software, Electronic mail and MS Office
Credentials: Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cultural Awareness Training, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a background in child welfare and experience in early intervention programming for at-risk youth
  • The candidates should be physically fit to meet the demands of the job and capable of working effectively under pressure
  • The candidates should demonstrate a strong attention to detail and be able to meet tight deadlines

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a strong client focus and possess efficient interpersonal skills in their interactions
  • The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication abilities and exhibit flexibility in adapting to various situations
  • The candidates should show initiative in taking on tasks, exercise good judgment in decision-making, and be effective team players
  • The candidates should be known for their accuracy in tasks, demonstrate interpersonal awareness, uphold values and ethics in their work, and be highly organized in their approach

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to obtain information, prepare reports or case histories, and perform administrative and office activities
  • The candidates should be able to appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services, research techniques, and assess clients’ relevant skill strengths and development needs
  • The candidates should be able to develop, coordinate, and implement the delivery of specific services within the community, perform housekeeping activities, and engage in food preparation
  • The candidates should be able to resolve conflict situations, implement substance abuse treatment programs, establish a registry of special needs support workers, and liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients
  • The candidates should be able to maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research, assist clients/guests with special needs, and perform administrative tasks
