Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium based in Fort Erie, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Guard, security. The Fort Erie Live Racing Consortium is a partnership formed to support and promote live horse racing at the historic Fort Erie Racetrack in Fort Erie, Ontario. Comprised of stakeholders from the horse racing industry, local government, and community organizations, the consortium is dedicated to preserving the tradition of live horse racing in the region and ensuring the continued success of the Fort Erie Racetrack. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $18.81 hourly for 16 to 24 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Credentials: Certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Security Guard License, and Smart Serve
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in dusty environments, adapting to conditions and maintaining productivity
- The candidates should be able to be comfortable working in hot outdoor settings, ensuring efficiency and safety in various weather conditions
- The candidates should be prepared to work outdoors, demonstrating resilience and adaptability to different environments
- The candidates should be able to work in wet or damp conditions, ensuring tasks are completed effectively despite weather challenges
- The candidates should be able to work in all weather conditions, demonstrating versatility and readiness to tackle varying outdoor situations- The candidates should be able to maintain attention to detail while performing tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
- The candidates should be able to be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, adapting to different postures as required by the job
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, demonstrating endurance and physical resilience in their work
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to enforce regulations effectively to maintain order, resolve conflicts, and monitor establishment activities
- The candidates should be able to experience in patrolling assigned areas to ensure security and safety
- The candidates should be able to be capable of picking up and delivering cash and valuables securely and efficiently
