Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a B.Sc. or Technical Diploma in in Microbiology, or Biology, Food Science with an emphasis on food and environmental biology
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in a microbiology laboratory or food industry

Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have at least 2 years of experience supervising technical teams, 3-5 years of quality assurance or relevant experience working with ISO 17025 standard quality systems, preferably in an analytical laboratory setting
- The candidates should have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- The candidates should be able to effectively coach and mentor staff, demonstrating negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- The candidates should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage professionally with colleagues and stakeholders
- The candidates should be business-oriented, results-driven, and values-focused while adhering to the company’s Code of Business Conduct
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to manage staff performance by clearly communicating responsibilities, expectations, and goals, provide rewards and recognition while supporting staff in achieving their objectives
- The candidates should be able to assist employees in furthering their academic and professional goals through involvement in professional associations, seminars, and academic courses
- The candidates should be able to conduct disciplinary reviews, hiring, and termination of laboratory staff, including completing all related administrative functions
- The candidates should be able to assess current lab structures and provide recommendations for improvement, maintain an in-depth functional knowledge of test methods in scope and proficiency testing
- The candidates should be able to review, approve, and distribute laboratory reports, including email notifications to appropriate distribution lists, act as a point of contact between MLF and customers/vendors, ensuring accurate and timely information
- The candidates should be able to prepare and monitor the laboratory’s annual budget, including capital estimates and variance analysis
- The candidates should be able to oversee equipment management, including replacement, repair, and purchase, and prepare Capital Expense Requests (CER)
- The candidates should be able to approve orders for lab supplies and services in SAP while ensuring expenditures align with the budget
- The candidates should be able to analyze lab expenditures against the budget to ensure efficient financial management, adapt and improve laboratory techniques and methods while writing, updating, and reviewing SOPs, validations, and project reports
