Job Description:

Position: Technical support specialist – information technology (IT)
No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $60,000 annually 35 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Calgary, AB
Shifts: Day, Evening, Morning
Supervision: 3-4 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to communicate electronically and in person with computer users experiencing difficulties to determine and document problems experienced
  • The candidates should be able to consult user guides, technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions, provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties
  • The candidates should be able to collect, organize and maintain a problems and solutions log for use by other technical support analysts
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the redesign of applications and other software, supervise other technical support workers in this group
  • The candidates should be able to provide business systems, network and Internet support to users in response to identified difficulties
  • The candidates should be able to set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software
  • The candidates should be able to perform Web-server backup and recovery operations
