Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a High School diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a safety-oriented work ethic supported by experience within the labour industry and at least 18 years of age
- The candidates should have the ability to follow instructions, rules, and regulations, work as a valuable member of a team
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess GED, a valid driver’s license, a valid Class 3 license and good written and verbal communication and comprehension skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to pull track spikes and apply rail anchors, shovel crushed rock as part of track maintenance
- The candidates should be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and perform repetitive tasks efficiently
- The candidates should be able to prioritize safety in a high-risk environment while working around heavy moving equipment, remain focused at all times and work effectively in a team environment
- The candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including rain, direct sunlight, and snow and work shifts with start times that may change daily based on operational
- The candidates should be able to stay away from home for extended periods with a provided meal allowance
- The candidates should be able to adapt to seasonal work, understanding that employment may be temporary with the possibility of recall based on seniority for the next work season
