Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Saskatchewan Journeyman Industrial Mechanic Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have three years of journeyman experience in welding and machining

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work safely with hazardous chemicals such as ammonium hydroxide, lime, chlorine, hydrogen sulphide, sodium hydroxide, and methane
  • The candidate should be able to perform duties with minimal supervision, operate large equipment such as forklifts and tractors
  • The candidate should be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships, provide leadership to co-workers
  • The candidate should be able to perform duties safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean work site, the physical ability to perform the assigned duties

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should possess be able to obtain within one year of hire, a valid Fireman’s Certificate
  • The candidate should possess, or be able to obtain, a valid, recognized first aid certificate, possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence
  • The candidate should provide a current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record
  • The candidate should have knowledge of industrial equipment, including pumps, cranes, generators, HVAC systems, and chemical feed systems
  • The candidate should have knowledge of safety procedures related to working with hazardous products, including confined space procedures and WHMIS

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to install, maintain, and rebuild plant machinery and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform welding and machining duties in the fabrication and maintenance of equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform preventative maintenance and perform other related duties
