Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Permaculture, Nursery or greenhouse
Experience and specialization: Apples, Artisanal crops, Bell peppers, Cabbage, Carrots, Cucumbers, Field berries, Garlic, Melons, Onions, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Zucchinis, Berries, Potatoes, Vegetables, Microgreens
Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools
Automated systems experience: Automated irrigation system
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to engage in floriculture production and participate in fruit and vegetable combination farming
  • The candidates should be able to practice organic farming methods and engage in farming other vegetables and melons (except potatoes)
  • The candidates should be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in dirty environments
  • The candidates should be able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be able to efficiently manage repetitive tasks and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks, with manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • The candidates should be able to distinguish between colors with accuracy and pay close attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • The candidates should be able to sit for extended periods if required and adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to walk as part of their job responsibilities and lift and handle loads up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to apply fertilizers and implement soil fertility programs
  • The candidates should be able to apply the technique of hoeing between the row and weed
  • The candidates should be able to clean the crops and clean greenhouses
  • The candidates should be able to clear fields of wood and stones and clean the work area
  • The candidates should be able to cut horticultural crops and hand-harvest vegetables
  • The candidates should be able to divide freshly harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots and sort and pack fruits and vegetables
  • The candidates should be able to follow sustainable soy farming practices such as crop rotation, reduced-till or no-till, water and nutrient management, precision farming technology, and cover crops, and harvest seedlings
  • The candidates should be able to grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, color, and volume to fetch high prices in the market and examine products for quality and their readiness for the market
  • The candidates should be able to pick row and orchard crops and load, unload, and transfer crates, supplies, and farm produce, livestock, and poultry
  • The candidates should be able to plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops and fertilize and spray crops
  • The candidates should be able to write daily basic progress reports
