Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a two-year diploma in Legal Assistant, Legal Administration and Paralegal
Experience: Candidates should have at least one year of progressively experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should understand that equivalencies will be considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of related legal experience, or one year of legal experience for one year of related education
- The candidate should know that preference will be given to those with 10+ years of directly related experience as a Legal Assistant, Judicial Assistant, and/or Executive Assistant
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to manage calendars and schedule appointments efficiently, document and process budgetary and claim expenses accurately
- The candidate should be able to type, format, edit, and proofread judgments, including researching and verifying case and statute citations to ensure the accuracy of the finished product prior to filing
- The candidate should be able to research and prepare correspondence and memoranda of a highly complex and confidential nature
- The candidate should be able to prepare materials required for court hearings, handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- The candidate should be able to establish and maintain both hard-copy and electronic filing systems, including organizing and classifying records
- The candidate should be able to handle incoming telephone inquiries and mail professionally
- The candidate should be able to coordinate complex travel arrangements efficiently, coordinate meetings and conferences, including organizing and assembling all required documents
- The candidate should be able to schedule judicial assignments accurately, perform backup duties for other Judicial Assistants, perform other related administrative tasks
