Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and be actively registered or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Community Addictions and Mental Health setting, including outreach work with vulnerable populations
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to foster partnerships and establish strong working relationships with public agencies and government
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of the philosophy of Harm Reduction practices, experience working with vulnerable populations
- The candidates should demonstrate effective communication skills, training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to work as part of an inter-disciplinary team to provide social work services to patients and their families
- The candidates should be able to conduct psychosocial assessments to determine patient and family
- The candidates should be able to implement resource-based interventions to support patients
- The candidates should be able to provide individual, group, and family treatment to address psychosocial concerns
- The candidates should be able to perform risk screening to identify and mitigate potential issues
- The candidates should be able to offer counseling services to support mental health and well-being, manage and coordinate cases to ensure effective service delivery
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement transition or discharge plans, participate in prevention, promotion, and public awareness activities related to social work services
