Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a recognized/approved three-year Business Management Program (HR Concentration preferred)
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of three years’ experience within the last five in a progressively responsible administrative role

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of lifting objects less than 10lbs, with the majority weighing less than 5lbs
  • The candidates should possess frequent bilateral repetitive fine motor skills (i.e., typing and mousing) while entering/maintaining data, as well as a constant requirement for eye/hand coordination to ensure precision in completing work and maintaining a database file
  • The candidates should know that the nature of the work provides the opportunity to take postural breaks, including standing and walking within the office environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed a two-year office administration program and possess considerable progressive experience
  • The candidates should have experience with collective agreement administration and staff scheduling
  • The candidates should have completed courses and demonstrate proficiency in MS Office, Internet, and various other computer applications
  • The candidates should have considerable experience meeting deadlines while maintaining a high level of productivity, accuracy, and efficiency
  • The candidates should have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • The candidates should showcase organizational and time management skills
  • The candidates should have the ability to multi-task and be a critical thinker and have a satisfactory record of work performance
  • The candidates should have ability to handle multiple projects under pressure and respond appropriately within deadlines is crucial

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to prepare and maintain daily time schedules of all staff to ensure adequate coverage
  • The candidates should be able to receive phone calls and notify staff of approval or denial of leave requests, ensuring minimum staffing parameters are met
  • The candidates should be able to enter shift changes and leave information for staff payroll with a high degree of accuracy
  • The candidates should be able to understand and apply various collective agreement articles to recall requests
  • The candidates should be able to maintain statistical records related to staffing
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the development and revision of staffing procedures and practices
  • The candidates should be able to perform other related duties
