Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have a degree in Business, Science, Social Sciences, Environmental Planning, Public Administration, Marketing or Communications
Experience: Candidates should have at least 8 years of directly related progressive experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a Master’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience
- The candidates should have experience in strategic business planning and performance measurement, policy development, engagement with partners and interested parties, risk management, and business improvement, as well as in providing strategic advice and support to leaders and decision-makers
- The candidates should have knowledge and understanding of Operational Services, which is considered an asset
- The candidates should be able to build collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization, in a politically sensitive environment
- The candidates should demonstrate critical and systems thinking, political acumen, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work with time-sensitive deadlines
- The candidates should possess exceptional communication skills, which are important for success
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide service governance and business planning oversight, including strategies for a healthy and safe workforce and risk management
- The candidates should be able to report to the Leader, Departmental Planning and Governance, and act as a partner to operational Business Units
- The candidates should be able to coordinate critically important service plans and budgets to ensure efficient, high-quality, and financially responsible services to Calgarians
- The candidates should be able to identify, design, and deliver innovative solutions for complex, unique, and highly visible service risks
- The candidates should be able to lead the analysis and response to corporate initiatives or other improvement initiatives
- The candidates should be able to make recommendations to Business Unit Management and Service Governance Teams on tactics to address emerging risks or challenges
- The candidates should be able to liaise with other City teams across the service value chain to link policies and processes to service objectives and governance while embedded in business unit operations
- The candidates should be able to elevate strategic discussions on risk, accountability, service Key Performance Indicators, and other major business processes to inform decision-making
- The candidates should be able to apply a systems lens to process improvement, partner engagement, and system analysis to contribute to service reliability and resiliency
- The candidates should be able to support and/or lead the execution of various projects within the business unit and Operational Excellence
- The candidates should be able to generate insights and prepare performance stories to support decision-making and build capacity through facilitation for robust conversations
- The candidates should be able to actively build communities of practice and contribute to learning circles and collaboration circles to apply knowledge to service planning and governance challenges
