Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have minimum one year experience in a customer service environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess exceptional customer service and communication skills
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to be articulate, tactful, and have demonstrated conflict resolution skills and experience
- The candidates should preferably hold a G2 License and have access to a vehicle
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide service excellence to stakeholders, vendors, and participants in the delivery of the Brampton Farmers’ Market
- The candidates should be able to ensure proactive program delivery of new and existing events that meet the needs of the community
- The candidates should be able to assist in event set-up and take-down, including directing vendors to preassigned stalls
- The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, including City procedures, Ontario Fire Code, and Public Health Department regulations
- The candidates should be able to respond to inquiries and resolve minor disputes in conjunction with the Coordinator, Markets, and Culinary Tourism
- The candidates should be able to collect product and weekly sales from vendors and assist with the operation of the Tourism booth, including implementing market surveys and promoting programs
- The candidates should be able to remain alert to market surroundings while on duty and execute emergency procedures if necessary
- The candidates should be able to produce weekly reports on the Farmers’ Market, including vendor attendance, patron feedback, sales, and programming
- The candidates should be able to liaise with community groups and vendors as assigned and assist with the implementation of event surveys
- The candidates should be able to attend Marquee, Experience Brampton, and/or Sport Tourism events sponsored by the City of Brampton Tourism Office
- The candidates should be able to engage participants in completing surveys and provide feedback on festival experiences
- The candidates should be able to promote Brampton Tourism office initiatives and grow brand awareness to new audiences
- The candidates should be able to assist with data collection, event reporting, and pictures from festivals and organize the data collection from Brampton Farmers’ Market, Marquee Festivals, and Sport Tourism events for presentation purposes
- The candidates should be able to identify positive programming stories discovered through event programming
- The candidates should be able to prepare Tourism office materials, including swag items, and set up equipment for upcoming events
- The candidates should be able to track and monitor the inventory of Tourism Office branded materials
- The candidates should be able to monitor and review other community events taking place across Brampton to discover potential new Tourism attractions
