Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a two (2) year diploma in planning, engineering, or architectural technology from a recognized institute of technology
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in work directly related to the work assignments

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have any drafting training involving AutoCAD, ArcPro, Posse, and GeoMedia, indicating proficiency or familiarity with relevant software tools used in drafting and spatial analysis, enhancing productivity and effectiveness in the role
  • The candidates should be able to work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to manage tasks and projects without constant supervision
  • The candidates should have spatial awareness, enabling them to read and understand maps, building drawings, and blueprints, which is crucial for tasks such as navigation and spatial analysis

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in their work to avoid errors and inconsistencies
  • The candidates should possess the ability to communicate effectively via emails and phone, conveying information clearly and professionally to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders

  • The candidates should have the ability to consult with Utility Agencies, including Canada Post, to gather or provide relevant information as needed for inquiries or projects and to address requests from Emergency Responders promptly, prioritizing urgent matters and coordinating necessary actions
  • The candidates should be capable of handling inquiries from Administration, ensuring timely responses and appropriate follow-up actions and to resolve issues raised through the above inquiries, demonstrating problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • The candidates should possess the skill to label incoming emails according to the assigned individual and the nature of the email, such as inquiries, change requests, and confirmations to facilitate efficient organization and response
  • The candidates should maintain delegation access, ensuring that appropriate individuals have access to necessary resources and information
  • The candidates should maintain security 2-step verification access, enhancing the security of sensitive information and systems
  • The candidates should be capable of responding to verbal inquiries from developers, builders, service agencies, utility companies, other City departments, and the public regarding addresses and address problems or concerns
  • The candidates should have the ability to create maps for Naming Committee decisions, utilizing appropriate software and data to generate accurate and informative maps

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide addressing for new buildings, structures, homes, condos, entryways, and suites created through major development permits (DPs), commercial permits, building permits (BPs), and minor development permits, ensuring compliance with municipal addressing standards and regulations
  • The candidates should be able to research various City databases to verify and correct address anomalies, ensuring consistency within the data and to review address data anomalies within POSSE and Aegis databases and devise resolutions for data integrity issues
  • The candidates should be able to navigate and utilize POSSE and Aegis databases proficiently to access address data and pinpoint discrepancies or irregularities
  • The candidates should be able to analyze address-related information to ascertain accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements and municipal protocols
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate closely with stakeholders, including developers, planners, and permit applicants, to gather pertinent information and address addressing-related concerns promptly
  • The candidates should be able to communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide updates on addressing processes, address data anomalies, and resolution measures
  • The candidates should be able to maintain meticulous records of addressing activities, documenting resolutions for data integrity issues and updating databases accordingly
  • The candidates should be able to stay abreast of relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing addressing and permit processes to ensure alignment and compliance
  • The candidates should be able to participate in training sessions or workshops aimed at enhancing knowledge and skills related to addressing procedures, database management, and data integrity practices
  • The candidates should be able to proactively identify opportunities for process improvement in addressing procedures and database management, contributing to the development and implementation of solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
