Sheridan College’s Office of the Registrar department oversees student enrollment and academic records, ensuring seamless transitions for students. It provide services such as admissions, registration, and graduation support, maintaining accuracy in academic documentation. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of degree in the field of education, social sciences, information technology and business administration
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience in a position processing complex and specialized information or guidance

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a thorough understanding of post-secondary education academic programs, organizational and educational structures, admissions processes, assessments, and educational standards or equivalencies and superior customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, data analysis skills, judgment, tact, and diplomacy
  • The candidates should have experience with application and admissions operations, including determining program eligibility, credential assessment, assessing eligibility for advanced entry opportunities, reporting and analysis to monitor admission and enrollment targets, and generating written and electronic applicant or student correspondence
  • The candidates should preferably be fluent in a second language other than English Preferred languages are based on market needs and language coverage within the current admissions team
  • The candidate should be a student or client-centered individual with a passion for facilitating student success and enhancing the student experience and relevant education and experience or a combination of both
  • The candidate should be an agile individual with an ability to respond to change, adapt, and seek improvements while applying principles of creative problem-solving to most appropriately and effectively support each student’s unique
  • The candidate should possess superlative presentation and influencing skills with an ability to influence at all levels and obtain buy-in when diverse needs and competing priorities exist. They should also be able to clearly communicate complex information verbally and in writing across multiple levels
  • The candidate should enjoy balancing many different tasks, staying organized, and planning They should also have the ability to integrate multiple streams of information, prioritize, and track multiple projects to meet a demanding workload and keep things running smoothly
  • The candidate should have a knack for engaging others with strategic social media and email campaigns. Their analytical, research, and problem-solving skills should allow them to identify and implement opportunities for improvement
  • The candidate should possess the skills and knowledge to work with an increasingly diverse student and staff population. Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to process and monitor application progress throughout the admissions cycle in a multi-term environment to appropriately determine the achievement of program new student enrollment targets and analyze enrollment data for assigned program areas to determine the appropriate number of applications and offers required to meet program targets and alert Manager Admissions to potential concerns in achieving established enrollment projections
  • The candidates should be able to update admission-related data inputs checklists, decisions, in the Student Information System (SIS) to ensure accuracy of applicant and admissions information and support the generation of related applicant communications and verify information for automated admissions processes and and assess applications and academic credentials to determine admission status and apply admission decisions
  • The candidates should be able to work collaboratively with team members to ensure that all admissions standards are understood and deployed consistently and equitably for all programs and liaise with the academic schools or coordinators for programs that require the assessment of supplemental admission requirements to ensure timely review
  • The candidates should be able to apply a strong understanding of both the Ministry (MCU) and Sheridan admissions policies such that admission decisions are consistent with those policies and identify, investigate, and report suspected fraudulent admissions cases and resolve issues related to application processing, admission requirements, and decisions
  • The candidates should be able to maintain accurate and up-to-date admissions and enrollment data and information using the college’s admissions, student records, and data management systems and provide subject matter expert knowledge to the Faculty and program coordinators regarding individual admissions decisions and/or requirement changes
  • The candidates should be able to maximize international student enrollment of qualified candidates by accurately and efficiently adjudicating academic credentials and curriculum from large markets and work with team members to prioritize processing and distribution of work to ensure credential evaluations volumes are optimal
  • The candidates should be able to ensure accurate input and codification of international credential evaluations and equivalencies into the student information system (SIS) to support the efficient timing of admissions assessments, decisions and research, assess, and document a large and complex body of information on educational systems from around the world and determine international curriculum equivalences
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with OTR departmental staff  Assessment Centre, Recruitment, Records and Registration, other institutional stakeholders Student Affairs, Faculty program coordinators as a subject matter expert for admissions processes and to resolve applicant issues
