Salary: $24.00 hourly for 35 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Term or contract Full time
Location: Grande Prairie, AB
Shifts: Evening, Weekend, Flexible Hours, Early Morning
Transportation information: Public transportation is available, travel expenses paid by employer, willing to travel, and valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis
This is NOT a condition of employment, room and board provided, and relocation costs covered by employer

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children
Security and safety: Criminal record check and reference required

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smokers
  • The candidates should be physically capable of handling demanding tasks
  • The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be capable of working under pressure

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be focused on client needs and possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills and demonstrate excellent written communication abilities
  • The candidates should show flexibility in their approach to tasks and show initiative in their work
  • The candidates should exercise good judgment in decision-making and be organized in their work
  • The candidates should be reliable in meeting work commitments and be a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
  • The candidates should be able to wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens and bathe, dress, and feed infants and children
  • The candidates should be able to care for foster children and discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
  • The candidates should be able to instruct children in personal hygiene and social development and keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home and organize activities such as games and outings for children
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals and prepare infants and children for rest periods
  • The candidates should be able to sterilize bottles, prepare formulas, and change diapers for infants and supervise and care for children
  • The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and to appointments, tend to the emotional well-being of children, and help children with homework
