Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have post-secondary education related to Information Technology or Business Analysis or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience managing projects involving workplace technology and providing IT support

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing and able to travel by vehicle or airplane within Manitoba, and available for overnight stays when required
  • The candidates should be able to carry equipment such as PCs, notebook computers, presentation equipment, or monitors
  • The candidates should undergo satisfactory Enhanced Security Screening
  • The candidates should undergo a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks. Developmental appointees will be required to gain certification

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • The candidates should have knowledge of desktop computing within a networked environment, problem-solving tools, operating systems, and hardware and software products
  • The candidates should have experience troubleshooting and providing end-user technical support and training related to computers, operating systems, peripheral equipment, software, and team collaboration tools, including various Microsoft Office and Office 365 products, various Adobe products, including Acrobat Pro, audio and video redaction tools, and experience with a variety of surveillance/video player software, used within a networked environment
  • The candidates should have experience eliciting business requirements for technology-related projects and have experience working in a legal, court, or police-related environment
  • The candidates should have experience developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The candidates should possess strong organizational and time management skills and have excellent written communication skills with the ability to write reports and reference material
  • The candidates should have excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to lead meetings and deliver training
  • The candidates should have a strong understanding of current and emerging technologies and knowledge of videoconferencing, audiovisual, and presentation technologies

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to improve organizational effectiveness by conducting thorough research, designing, and implementing technology solutions to support Manitoba Prosecution Service in progress towards digital evidence management, digital evidence presentation, remote court operations, and remote testimony
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot and provide technical support for hardware and software issues as required
  • The candidates should be able to create training material, update online help files, and facilitate training sessions
  • The candidates should be able to work with counsel, police, and other stakeholders to collect requirements and develop strategies and solutions to support the efficient and effective incorporation of technology in the courtroom
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with technology suppliers to support the development and implementation of new business solutions
