City of Calgary’s Fleet and Inventory department manages the municipality’s vehicle fleet and inventory assets. It oversees procurement, maintenance, and disposal of vehicles and equipment. It contributes to Calgary’s infrastructure management and service delivery, supporting the city’s functionality and productivity. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a completed 2 year diploma in Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Information Technology or a related field
Experience: Candidates should have at least 3 years of related experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a completed 2-year diploma in Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field and at least 3 years of related experience
  • The candidates should hold a degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field and have at least 1 year of related experience and have experience generating reports using Business Objects, DAX, and SQL,
  • The candidates should have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience with Business Intelligence tools such as PowerBI
  • The candidates should demonstrate expertise in business analytics, statistical analytics, performance metrics, data visualization, and a proficient understanding of data science concepts and Financial acumen, demonstrated analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to make recommendations to senior leadership
  • The candidates should possess advanced communication skills to translate business requirements and financial information into technical requirements and present complex information. Leading presentations, workshops, and training on data solutions and reports
  • The candidates should exhibit strong attention to detail, the ability to creatively problem solve, and proactively identify solutions to address changing business needs

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support Fleet and Inventory’s business and operational needs with management decision-making, process improvements, and efficiencies through the analysis and reporting of information extracted from a variety of databases
  • The candidates should be able to maintain and continuously improve Fleet-specific processes and applications with both IT and vendor support, conducting data modeling, analysis, and validation to support business decision-making processes
  • The candidates should be able to identify and recommend process, operational, and financial improvements, as well as efficiencies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, create, and monitor performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators aligned with business objectives
  • The candidates should be able to generate actionable insights through data visualization and storytelling techniques and perform ad-hoc analysis for long-term projects to support various divisions and initiatives
  • The candidates should be able to continuously monitor and audit data quality and integrity, identifying and addressing data anomalies and inconsistencies, and contribute to the development and enhancement of data analytics tools, methodologies, and frameworks
  • The candidates should be able to provide training and support to interested parties on data analysis tools and techniques and document processes, methodologies, and findings to ensure knowledge sharing and standardization across the business unit
