Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have High school graduation (or equivalent) with additional training in business and office procedures, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Candidates should have Experience in Human Resources, or Human Resource Management

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, set priorities, work efficiently, and ensure all deadlines are met

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a Human Resource Management Certificate or Diploma and possess experience providing clerical/administrative support in a progressively responsible position
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to operate a personal computer at an advanced level using Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook and have proficiency using various other software programs including PeopleSoft and SharePoint
  • The candidates should have a good knowledge of database management practices and have working knowledge of general office and budgeting procedures
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong organization skills with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and possess the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with matters discretely and professionally
  • The candidates should have the ability to develop and maintain accurate records, files, and filing systems and able to follow specific procedures/processes in accordance with policies and management direction
  • The candidates should be capable of working well with others in a team environment and able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external contacts, colleagues, managers, and supervisors
  • The candidates should have general knowledge of the Water and Waste Department’s functions and should be familiar with a variety of standard office equipment (photocopier and fax)
  • The candidates should be able to perform miscellaneous clerical tasks consistent with the classification

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist in the coordination and promotion of education and training within the Department
  • The candidates should be able to assist in coordinating the delivery of education and training in the Department
  • The candidates should be able to maintain the Department’s education, training, certification, and skills inventory data, and update records and information in PeopleSoft and other software applications
  • The candidates should be able to process invoices for payment and reimbursements
  • The candidates should be able to assist with Departmental Car Allowance Administration
  • The candidates should be able to administrate the Departmental Health Benefit Program
  • The candidates should be able to perform other related duties consistent with the classification, as assigned
