Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the Inuktut, English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a university degree in a related field
Experience: Candidates should have three (3) years of related work experience (such as property management, mortgages and loans administration, and housing programs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have equivalent years of education and/or experience equal to the education and experience requirements
  • The candidates should be fluent in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and have experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to oversee the delivery of the NHC Public Housing and Homeownership programs
  • The candidates should be able to assist Local Housing Organizations (LHO) with program administration and delivery
  • The candidates should be able to plan, assess, and monitor programs, implementing training activities to build program capacity in communities within the district
  • The candidates should be able to provide key public relations and communications functions to support the Public Housing and Homeownership programs
  • The candidates should be able to administer the LHO Management Agreement in the District to support the delivery of housing programs
  • The candidates should be able to counsel clients on financial planning, budgeting, and credit management
  • The candidates should be able to work cooperatively with banks, financial institutions, and other lenders
  • The candidates should be able to explain and execute legal documents related to homeownership
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the collection of mortgages and rent payments at the district and LHO level
