Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Diploma in Business and/or Accounting or University/College degree with an emphasis on Business and/or Accounting
Experience: Candidates should have Minimum of three year’s experience with business administration and/or accounting duties

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of accounting practices and terminology, with a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and CRA legislation being a strong asset
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of financial services and practices within the university, as well as the broader university offices, academic units, departments, and divisions and should maintain up-to-date knowledge of University policies and procedures
  • The candidates should have knowledge of office administration policies, procedures, and processes and have a strong understanding of Carleton University Financial Management Systems
  • The candidates should have strong skills in spreadsheet analysis and a high degree of competency with Microsoft Office software, including but not limited to, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet browsers

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to manage the financial administration of funds overseen by the Controller’s Office
  • The candidates should be able to provide operational support for the Financial Services Department
  • The candidates should be able to handle office administration duties for the Associate Vice President, Financial Services, and the Controller’s Office
