Shifts: Day, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Child care centre, nursery school, kindergarten, before and after school programs

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), child development worker (ECE level 2), First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as necessary

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit dependability and demonstrate reliability
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and be effective team players
  • The candidates should show flexibility in their approach and have the ability to multitask
  • The candidates should demonstrate creativity and prioritize honesty

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties efficiently and cooperatively, and bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers with care and attention to their needs
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children effectively, and maintain daycare equipment, ensuring it is safe and functional for use by children
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in storytelling activities to stimulate their imagination and language development, and supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers in child-care settings, providing guidance and support as needed
  • The candidates should be able to synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents accurately and sensitively, and assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children effectively
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest to enhance their learning and enjoyment, and encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, fostering their self-expression and confidence
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts that are age-appropriate and engaging, and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, promoting independence and self-care skills
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, ensuring a comfortable and nurturing environment for children, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors accurately and objectively
  • The candidates should be able to attend staff meetings to discuss the progress and problems of children, contributing insights and suggestions for improvement, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, fostering a supportive and cohesive team environment
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children, implementing safety protocols and emergency procedures as needed, and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours, providing engaging and enriching experiences for their development and enjoyment
