Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), child development supervisor (ECE level 3), child development worker (ECE level 2), First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, tuberculosis test, and vulnerable sector check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality in their attendance and exhibit dependability in fulfilling their duties consistently
  • The candidates should showcase reliability in meeting deadlines and commitments, and be team players capable of collaborating effectively with others
  • The candidates should have the ability to multitask efficiently to handle multiple responsibilities

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, and engage children through storytelling to enhance language skills and imagination
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest to foster curiosity and exploration, and encourage children to express creativity through various mediums such as art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits to promote independence and self-care skills, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors as needed
  • The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members to ensure appropriate support and intervention, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children to enhance the quality of care and support
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children by ensuring safety protocols and creating a nurturing atmosphere, and submit written observations on children’s behavior and development to early childhood educators or supervisors for assessment and planning
