Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed Grade 10 education
Experience: Candidates should have less than 3 months of experience working with the public

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a current Standard First Aid certificate, CPR – 2-rescuer certificate and a current AED Operator certificate
  • The candidates should have completed AODA Customer Service/IASR Training
  • The candidates should demonstrate knowledge of computers, software applications, and an ability to develop an understanding of corporate computerized registration booking software application
  • The candidates should be familiar with general office and administrative procedures
  • The candidates should have word processing skills and Knowledgeable about corporate computer software as an asset
  • The candidates should develop a working knowledge of the Department’s facilities and programs in order to make appropriate referrals to other sites as required
  • The candidates should display initiative, reliability, and flexibility
  • The candidates should possess good communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist in providing support to the assigned Recreation Facility or Arts Centre with programs such as day camps and swimming lessons
  • The candidates should be able to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
  • The candidates should be able to provide excellent customer service to patrons and visitors
  • The candidates should be able to effectively communicate program information and assist with registration processes
  • The candidates should be able to provide program support by assisting instructors and ensuring smooth program operation
  • The candidates should be able to perform general administrative tasks as assigned
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to creating a positive and inclusive environment for all participants
  • The candidates should be able to adhere to departmental policies and procedures regarding facility operations and program delivery
