Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years 
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), child development supervisor (ECE level 3), child development worker (ECE level 2), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks as part of their duties and demonstrate attention to detail in all assigned tasks
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during work hours and be able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling tasks as required by the job

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should prioritize punctuality in their work schedules and exhibit dependability in fulfilling their responsibilities consistently
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication and demonstrate excellent written communication abilities
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility in adapting to various circumstances and requirements and exercise good judgment in decision-making processes
  • The candidates should maintain reliability in fulfilling their duties and commitments, be team players capable of collaborating effectively with others, and uphold strong values and ethics in their professional conduct
  • The candidates should demonstrate honesty in all interactions and tasks

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, engaging them in activities like storytelling, singing songs, and preparing craft
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities, take children to local points of interest, and support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote children’s development
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in record-keeping, provide opportunities for children’s creativity through various media, and guide them in proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods, and observe children for potential learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to discuss children’s progress and problems at staff meetings, assess their abilities and needs, and collaborate with co-workers and community service providers
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment ensuring the health, security, and well-being of children
