Salary: $18.00 to $25.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Prince George, BC
Shifts: Evening, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and First Aid Certificate
Experience with special needs children: Children with behavioural issues, Children with allergies, and Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD)
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Medical exam, and Immunization records

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and able to work effectively in noisy environments
  • The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and demonstrate attention to detail in their work

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit dependability in their work and possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral communication abilities and exhibit flexibility in their approach to tasks
  • The candidates should show interpersonal awareness in their interactions and be reliable in fulfilling their responsibilities
  • The candidates should be strong team players and demonstrate creativity in problem-solving
  • The candidates should have the ability to multitask effectively

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote their development
  • The candidates should be able to engage in storytelling, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and support early childhood educators in carrying out development programs
  • The candidates should be able to assist in record-keeping, engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, and provide opportunities for creativity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, maintain daycare equipment, and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, prepare reports, and discuss progress or problems with parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the Day Nurseries Act and licensing regulations, establish guidelines for behavior, and assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children
  • The candidates should attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers, and plan and maintain a safe environment for children
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
