Wearabouts has its grassroots beginnings planted in Salmon Arm, British Columbia with the original Wearabouts Clothing store. Our company is known to carry fashionable and durable apparel and footwear for both men and women, from conscious brands that are aligned with our values. We are also aware of the social and environmental impact of the clothing industry. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The position of Retail Sales Associate is a green job.

Job Description:

Salary: $18.00 per hour for 16 to 32 hours per week
Employment Type: Part time
Location: Vernon, BC
Shifts: Day, Weekend
Work Setting: Clothing store, Shoe store


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset, training will be provided
Type of Product: Footwear, Men’s clothing, Women’s clothing
Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads
  • The candidate should be a combination of bending, crouching, kneeling and standing for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have adaptability skills and be collaborative
  • The candidate should be efficient and energetic
  • The candidate should be hardworking and be able to work with integrity
  • The candidate should be outgoing and have a positive attitude
  • The candidate should have time management skills and be someone who can be dependent on

  • The candidate should have an excellent oral communication skills


  • The candidate should be able to operate cash register and also provide advice about merchandise
  • The candidate should be able to assist in display of merchandise and also estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates
  • The candidate should be able to greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease and also maintain sales records for inventory control
  • The candidate should be able to prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or lease and also prepare sales, rental or leasing contracts and accept cash, cheque, credit card or automatic debit payment
