Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should possess relevant training and experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be comfortable working outdoors in varied temperatures and weather conditions and regularly bend, kneel, reach and lift less than 50 lbs
  • The candidate should be comfortable working indoors in varied conditions, such as hot, noisy, and dusty environments
  • The candidate should be able to move through all areas of the plant, including stairs and ladders
  • The candidate should be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces and willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed an electrician apprenticeship program or possess an Associate’s degree in electrical technology
  • The candidates should hold a valid electrician’s license as required by local or national regulations
  • The candidate should be skilled in diagnosing and solving complex electrical issues and good written and oral communication abilities
  • The candidate should be knowledgeable in electrical safety standards and regulations and proficient in various industrial electrical systems and components
  • The candidate should have the ability to use a range of electrical testing and repair tools effectively
  • The candidate should be familiar with computer systems and software used in electrical diagnostics and reporting
  • The candidate should be action-oriented, possess organizing skills and adept at priority setting
  • The candidate should excel in process management and strong written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and practices, and participate in safety training and meetings
  • The candidates should be able to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components in industrial machinery and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to diagnose and repair electrical problems in industrial equipment, ensuring minimal downtime
  • The candidates should be able to provide technical support and guidance on electrical issues to other maintenance team members
  • The candidates should be able to conduct routine maintenance to prevent equipment failures and ensure operational efficiency
  • The candidates should be able to respond quickly to electrical emergencies, minimizing risks and damages and maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance and repairs, including compliance documentation
  • The candidates should be able to work collaboratively with other departments to support overall plant operations
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting improvements in electrical systems and processes
  • The candidates should be able to comply with OHSA and all of its applicable regulations, wear all Personal Protective equipment as required, and strictly comply with Lafarge Canada safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • The candidates should be able to report all incidents, near misses, and safety hazards to the Supervisor, follow Lockout, Tag out or Try out procedures, and be aware of the emergency response plan
