Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Languages
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as completion of a Teacher Education Program diploma or a Bachelor of Education degree and be eligible for a Northwest Territories Teaching Certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience, the details are mentioned below
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have a strong communication and interpersonal skills and also have a positive team spirit.
- The candidate should have a strong background and competence in elementary education (Grades 3 to 6) and also having teaching experience in a JK–12 environment would be an asset
- The candidate should have an excellent classroom management skills and also have the knowledge of, or willingness to become familiar with, the prescribed NWT curricula in French First Language instruction and related areas
- The candidate should have an experience using data to inform instructional decisions and also have experience in multi-grade classrooms and differentiated instruction
- The candidate should have understanding of and experience in the integration of technology into classroom instruction and also have demonstrated proficiency in spoken and written French
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should have awareness of and sensitivity to cultural diversity and heritage and also be able to make data-based decisions to improve student success and achievement
- The candidate should be able to take care of integration of computer-based learning technology into the classroom and also be able to take outcome-based instruction and assessment
- The candidate should be able to give sustained commitment to literacy and numeracy and also work collaboratively with a variety of partners in education
