Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Post-secondary education in Human Resources
Experience: Candidates should have 1-2 years Human Resources related experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience working in a unionized environment, which is considered an asset, demonstrating an understanding of union dynamics and processes
  • The candidates should possess strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, encompassing oral, written, and listening abilities to effectively engage with colleagues, stakeholders, and union representatives
  • The candidates should demonstrate strong organization and analytical skills, enabling them to systematically manage tasks, analyze data, and make informed decisions
  • The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, facilitating effective documentation, analysis, and communication processes
  • The candidates should have the capability to take initiative and problem solve, proactively addressing challenges and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • The candidates should possess strong administrative skills with careful attention to detail, ensuring precision and thoroughness in all administrative tasks and documentation

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to establish credibility with employees by addressing and responding to inquiries and managing employee relations in a unionized environment and ensure timelines are met with a high level of accuracy while producing high-quality work
  • The candidates should be able to be the first point of contact for all HR inquiries and update employee information in SAP, including job, wage, address, and direct deposit and ensure Kronos (time and attendance system) is updated and payroll reports are processed
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate internal job postings for the Hourly group and manage recruitment/selection for external applicants and able to facilitate and collaborate with QA and OH&S for orientation booking and prepare new hire packages for orientation
  • The candidates should be able to set up new hires in a timely and accurate manner, including preparation of WIN-PAK time cards and entering documentation in SAP and Kronos and respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, vacations, LOAs, wage increases, and other HR processes
  • The candidates should be able to manage employee benefits and pension plans through a third-party provider, including enrollments, changes, and terminations for the Hourly group and process biweekly payroll for frontline team members, salary overtime, and 3rd party timesheets where applicable
  • The candidates should be able to accurately maintain employee files and assist with general employee requests regarding HR-related policies and procedures and assist with HR metrics and SAP report creation, coordinate and assist with annual employee training, and handle ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned
  • The candidates should be able to support the HR Manager on Labour Relations initiatives, including investigations and collective bargaining
