Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a 4-year bachelor’s degree in Communication, English, Journalism and Marketing
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years of focused experience managing intranets or other internal communications with an emphasis on product/project management

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a proven ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy with highly confidential information while making decisions aligned with Sheridan’s values

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have training obtained through conferences, seminars, experience, professional development, in-class or online learning, specifically in a combination of the following, Technical Writing Fundamentals, Drupal – Open-Source CMS Technology, Internal Communications Best Practices and Principles, Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK), Change Management principles and techniques ADKAR, User Experience Design, Design Thinking, Inclusive Design and Project Management Body of Knowledge
  • The candidates should have demonstrated experience translating technical language into business language to bridge the gap between business and technical professionals
  • The candidates should have experience in architecting, developing, and operating mission-critical IT/Communications infrastructure and services
  • The candidates should have a high degree of technical competency and proficiency using Drupal, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, databases, and digital cameras (both still and video)
  • The candidates should have an intermediate level of competency with photo and video editing software

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be capable of writing, editing, reviewing and approving communications distributed to all employees via the Insider, supporting the dissemination of institutional priorities and policies and oversee timely, complete, and accurate intranet communications to inform and educate Sheridan’s internal audiences, including faculty, staff, applicants, and current students
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with the Product Lead to develop and architect the intranet, ensuring Drupal project work aligns with IT/Communications infrastructure, strategic goals, and best practices
  • The candidates should be able to work with vendors, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), PeopleSoft developers, and IT teams to create solutions for highly technical issues
  • The candidates should be able to develop and recommend digital content strategies and project plans to various internal groups to align institutional objectives with the digital experience on the intranet
  • The candidates should be able to conduct large-scale audits to identify opportunities for improvement, make recommendations, and implement changes to enhance internal communications content
  • The candidates should be able to develop synchronous and asynchronous learning modules, training documents, user manuals, and instructional videos to support 30+ content owners across the institution and perform other related duties
