Salary: $31.89 to $40.15 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Area of specialization: Geriatrics
Credentials: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination, CPR Certificate, and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, and Tuberculosis test

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to work effectively under pressure
• The candidates should be capable of performing repetitive tasks accurately and demonstrate attention to detail in their work
• The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and able to stand for extended periods
• The candidates should be able to manage a large caseload efficiently

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to administer medications, apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, and conduct specimen collection
• The candidates should be able to ensure infection control and monitor nutritional intake
• The candidates should be able to observe and record medication’s therapeutic and side effects, as well as take vital signs
• The candidates should be able to provide technical assistance to surgeons, including laying out instruments, setting up equipment, assisting surgical teams with gowns and gloves, and passing instruments to surgeons
• The candidates should be able to provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care, and monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
• The candidates should be able to provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, and nursing services within the defined scope of practice to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
• The candidates should be able to monitor patients’ progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team
