Salary: $28.18 to $30.26 hourly (To be negotiated) for 80 hours bi-weekly

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Morning
Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Geriatrics
Credentials: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, CPR certificate, and first aid certificate
Security and safety: Adult Abuse Registry check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should thrive in a fast-paced work environment and be able to work effectively under pressure
  • The candidates should be capable of performing repetitive tasks efficiently and possess manual dexterity for precise tasks
  • The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and have the ability to distinguish between colors accurately
  • The candidates should exhibit sound discrimination abilities and be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks and able to stand for extended periods without difficulty
  • The candidates should be able to manage a large caseload efficiently and be willing to work overtime when required

  • The candidates should uphold strong values and ethics in their work

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer medications, observe and document therapeutic effects, and ensure infection control
  • The candidates should be able to take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques, monitor nutritional intake, conduct specimen collection, and ensure infection control
  • The candidates should be able to administer established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, and provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
  • The candidates should be able to provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice, based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • The candidates should be able to monitor patients’ progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team
