Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months
Area of specialization: Geriatrics
Credentials: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, CPR certificate, and first aid certificate
Security and safety: Adult Abuse Registry check

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer medications, observe and document therapeutic effects, and ensure infection control
- The candidates should be able to take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques, monitor nutritional intake, conduct specimen collection, and ensure infection control
- The candidates should be able to administer established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, and provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
- The candidates should be able to provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice, based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
- The candidates should be able to monitor patients’ progress, evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team
