Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Conventional oven, deep fryer, electronic cash register, food dispensers, and grill
Credentials: Food Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, capable of handling heavy loads, and willing to work overtime when required
  • The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks, willing to perform repetitive tasks, and able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bring clean dishes, flatware, and other items to serving areas, set tables appropriately, and clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs after customers have finished dining
  • The candidates should be able to load buspans and trays for efficient transport, operate dishwashers proficiently to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and place dishes in the designated storage area after washing
  • The candidates should be able to replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas as needed, sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand when necessary, and scour pots and pans to remove food residue
  • The candidates should be able to keep accurate records of the quantities of food used to maintain inventory levels, package take-out food orders securely for customers, and portion and wrap foods according to portion sizes and packaging requirements
  • The candidates should be able to prepare, heat, and finish simple food items as per recipes and instructions, serve customers at counters or buffet tables efficiently and courteously, and stock refrigerators and salad bars with fresh ingredients as needed
  • The candidates should be able to take customers’ orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff, use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs as required, and clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment regularly
  • The candidates should be able to handle and store cleaning products safely and appropriately, receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas efficiently, and remove kitchen garbage and trash to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • The candidates should be able to sharpen kitchen knives to ensure they remain sharp and safe to use, sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe working environment, and wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit as required for food preparation
