Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of Grade 10
Experience: Candidates should have three years’ experience in a motor vehicle, equipment repair and maintenance environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to exercise good judgment in the care and handling of motor vehicles
- The candidates should have the ability to maintain basic records
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- The candidates should have the physical ability to perform the assigned duties
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- The candidates should provide a current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record
- The candidates should possess or have the ability to obtain a valid first aid certificate
- The candidates should have knowledge of basic automotive maintenance and repair
- The candidates should have knowledge of the safety practices specific to the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform regular maintenance inspections of Parks vehicles or equipment
- The candidates should be able to maintain lubrication levels, change lubricants, and grease Parks vehicles or equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform minor repair aspects and adjustments to ignition, electrical, braking, fuel injection, hydraulic and other systems on Parks vehicles or equipment
- The candidates should be able to rotate, repair and change tires
- The candidates should be able to submit reports of all maintenance duties performed
- The candidates should be able to maintain the shop area in a clean and safe condition
- The candidates should be able to assist shop mechanics as directed
- The candidates should be able to assist with acetylene, arc and MIG welding and with metal fabrication
