Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Baccalaureate in nursing
Experience: Candidates should have recent experience in the delivery of public health programs and services

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be willing and able to travel regularly within the Yukon by both ground and air

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
  • The candidates should possess experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs
  • The candidates should have experience in delivering training workshops/courses and demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal skills, organization, and flexibility
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to lead, coach, and counsel effectively
  • The candidates should possess strong knowledge of quality assurance, quality improvement, risk management, and resource utilization
  • The candidates should have a strong knowledge of public health programs, including TB Screening
  • The candidates should hold RCMP Security Clearance with Vulnerable Sector
  • The candidates should possess a valid class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent
  • The candidates should have Yukon RN registration in good standing prior to the start date
  • The candidates should hold current CPR and BLS-HCP certifications

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support professional development courses and provide training and education designed to maintain and keep current the knowledge and skills of those working in public health nursing
  • The candidates should be able to identify the resources required to meet program objectives and ensure financial accountability
  • The candidates should be able to provide recommendations to Community Nursing management
  • The candidates should be able to conduct program audits and develop and deliver educational support for practice issues
  • The candidates should be able to investigate issues specific to the Tele-Radiology and 811 programs
