Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have diploma in Practical Nursing or B.S. Nursing Degree preferred
Experience: Candidates should have occupational Health, Primary Health care, or
Emergency experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to attend meetings, trainings, and conferences that may require travel outside of Canada
  • The candidates must be flexible to meet the needs of the business, including occasional work such as being on-call on a rotating schedule

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have current registration and be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • The candidates should have experience in Occupational Health, Primary Health Care, or Emergency settings
  • The candidates should have certification in COHN or COHN-S, COHC as an asset
  • The candidates should have Adult CPR/AED certification

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate a passion for promoting, maintaining, and restoring the physical and psycho-social well-being of employees to improve their optimal performance
  • The candidates should be able to provide comprehensive health and wellness services to plant employees in alignment with established Global Medical Priorities, Health System Key Elements, North America Medical, and site-specific objectives, goals, strategies, and measures
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with other team members to provide site health and safety needs for the plant, including supporting site assessment audits, site risk analysis, and occupational health management plans
  • The candidates should be able to deliver comprehensive nursing care, including prompt medical emergency response, prevention, treatment, and follow-up for occupational injuries/illnesses, referrals, and medications
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate the care of ill and injured workers, including conducting return-to-work assessments and fit-for-duty evaluations
  • The candidates should be able to engage with site and regional medical resources to support clinical activities, including following medical triage protocols, conducting virtual screenings, following confinement guidelines, and planning appropriate return to work per standard operating procedures
  • The candidates should be able to conduct new hire post-offer health questionnaire reviews, physicals, and medical clearances
  • The candidates should be able to work with third-party vendors to facilitate health services programs and resources based on business needs
  • The candidates should be able to develop, interpret, and administer medical testing programs such as audio testing and spirometry
  • The candidates should be able to ensure compliance with health aspects and medical testing requirements of OSHA, P&G Medical, and Industrial Health & Safety standards
  • The candidates should be able to attain and maintain current knowledge of site risks/hazards, including chemical, biological, and physical hazards, and participate in reviews and overall risk assessments
  • The candidates should be able to provide health coaching that optimizes employees’ health and well-being by conducting screening tests, counseling, and follow-up
  • The candidates should be able to proactively work on a vibrant living culture to improve the health and well-being of employees, through championing wellness programs offered by the company and recommended by the site
