Salary: $16.55 to $19.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 14 to 16 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Point of sale system, Scanning system, Adobe Premiere Pro

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment and capable of working under pressure
  • The candidates should be proficient in handling repetitive tasks and skilled in manual dexterity
  • The candidates should be attentive to detail and able to distinguish between colors
  • The candidates should be capable of sound discrimination and comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and proficient in walking, as well as capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist health care professionals and clean and maintain equipment
  • The candidates should be able to process claims such as health insurance or workers’ compensation and collect statistics
  • The candidates should be able to maintain supplies and perform general clerical duties
  • The candidates should be able to manage routine office functions, including reception, telephone, and booking appointments, and order supplies and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to organize and maintain inventory and schedule and confirm appointments
  • The candidates should be able to photocopy and collate documents for distribution, mailing, and filing, as well as perform clerical duties (i.e., faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • The candidates should be able to perform various administrative functions
  • The candidates should be able to operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments, record test results, and administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists
  • The candidates should be able to take patients’ general medical and ophthalmic history
