Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have one year or more of personal training work experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be 18 years of age or older
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess GED and a current personal training certification and a current First Aid and CPR Level C Certificate
- The candidates should provide a Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last three months) for approval by the Corporation prior to commencing employment
- The candidates should have the ability to demonstrate proper form and technique for exercise movements
- The candidates should have an enthusiastic, encouraging attitude and great communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to evaluate clients’ fitness levels and health conditions and build individualized exercise programs
- The candidates should be able to observe the form and needs of clients, explain and demonstrate exercises in detail, and provide ongoing modifications to ensure the safety and success of clients
- The candidates should be able to explain and demonstrate the safe and proper use of gym equipment and clean the weight room, equipment, and fitness studios
- The candidates should be able to lead both individual and group training sessions, incorporating various exercise techniques and trends
- The candidates should be able to fulfill all the requirements to maintain certifications and participate in regularly scheduled staff training
- The candidates should be able to monitor the weight room on a part-time basis during daytime, evening, and weekend shifts
- The candidates should be able to provide weight room orientations for new patrons and answer patrons’ questions relating to gym equipment and exercises
- The candidates should be able to occasionally assist with the setup and takedown of various sports equipment, such as volleyball nets, in the gymnasium
- The candidates should be able to adapt to changing duties and perform other tasks related to the position
