Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Four year University degree in Engineering (Structural or Civil preferred)
Experience: Candidates should have Five (5) years plus of relevant experience within the design and project management of structural bridge and transportation structures within municipal infrastructure
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should hold a Professional Engineer Designation in Ontario or be eligible for designation in Ontario
- The candidates should possess a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to manage a variety of small to large multi-disciplined capital projects from budget estimates, planning, procurement, design, and construction through to completion
- The candidates should be able to facilitate the project management of capital projects, primarily in structural bridge and transportation structures, of municipal infrastructure projects with effective leadership working with a diverse team of professionals
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate highly developed project management skills in collaboration with proven leadership skills in delivering the capital works projects in structural bridge and transportation structures within a team environment
- The candidates should be able to possess strong technical knowledge in the planning, design, construction, and operation of structural bridge and transportation structures projects of municipal infrastructure and related functions
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate proven problem-solving and decision-making skills with strong engineering principles when providing engineering advice and recommendations
- The candidates should be able to develop and monitor project schedules, financials, and negotiate project changes and claims while maintaining the quality and schedule of the project
- The candidates should be able to exhibit a high level of integrity, as an effective leader, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The candidates should be able to possess a strong awareness of municipal government and of pertinent legislation, standards, regulations, and policies within local, provincial, and federal governments
- The candidates should be able to liaise with governing and approval agencies, stakeholders, developers, consultants, contractors, internal staff, and external agencies
- The candidates should be able to lead by example with a strong ability to support, coach, and mentor staff within a multi-functional and collaborative team environment
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate competence in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office, and MS Project
