Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education in science or health
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience working with the public, particularly in a high customer-focused environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be flexible to accommodate assigned shifts, which will vary based on operational needs, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- The candidates should be able to lift weights of up to 10 kg (22 lbs.)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy and a second language is considered an asset to support a positive donor experience
- The candidates should have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs. Previous knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- The candidates should have knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to leverage their excellent customer service skills to promote a positive experience for donors throughout the collection process and take initiative to ensure that donors are engaged and their needs are met
- The candidates should be able to utilize their superior interpersonal and communication skills to greet and assist all plasma donors as they progress through the donation process in an engaging and positive manner
- The candidates should be able to apply their experience and training in phlebotomy to perform venipuncture according to established standards, monitor donors for safety and comfort, and provide post-donation care and instruction
- The candidates should be able to use their excellent attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of product information in the IT system, complete the product labeling process, and prepare products for freezing, centrifuging, and shipment to testing facilities
- The candidates should be able to draw on their knowledge or experience in continuous improvement to contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team
