Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a high school diploma or provincial equivalency and/or experience in business administration
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to stand and move for extended periods, especially during customer interactions
  • The candidates must be capable of lifting and handling mail and packages
  • The candidates should be comfortable working with postal equipment, including sorting and organizing mail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have training and/or experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions
  • The candidates should possess an understanding of general or post office accounting systems
  • The candidates should be physically fit to lift mail containers of up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods of time
  • The candidates should have the flexibility to be available for temporary, on-call work

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to sell postal products and services to the business community and the public
  • The candidates should possess the skills to sort, distribute, and process mail into appropriate classifications
  • The candidates must be capable of providing customers with information and forms
  • The candidates should be able to address delivery and service difficulties to resolve problems thoroughly and quickly
