Salary: $15.83 per hour for 30 to 70 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time
Location: Alliston, ON
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Overtime, Morning
Work Site Environment: Wet/damp, Noisy, Odours, Cold/refrigerated
Work Setting: Rural area, Various locations
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset, training will be provided
Type of Crops: Potatoes
Equipment and Machinery Experience: Farm truck, Lift truck, Planting equipment, Tillage equipment, Tractor, Vegetable harvester
Automated Systems Experience: Automated irrigation system
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work with tight deadlines
- The candidate should be able to perform repetitive tasks and pay attention to detail
- The candidate should be able to work with hand-eye coordination and have the ability to distinguish between colors
- The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods and work for overtime hours
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have an efficient interpersonal skills and work in a flexible environment
- The candidate should have judgment skills and work in an organized way
- The candidate should be a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to perform tasks such as Grading, Seed cutting, Stone and/or wood picking and Vegetable culling
- The candidate should be able to plant, cultivate and irrigate crops also operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
