Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of High school graduation
Experience: Candidates should have 4 years of Mechanical experience, including progressive experience in Operational and in Training and Instruction
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to understand and apply principles of vehicle and heavy equipment operations and maintenance
- The candidates should expect normal work conditions
- The candidates should be prepared for short periods of intense concentration while preparing reports and interpreting policies and regulations, which may occur often
- The candidates should anticipate typical office work
- The candidates should be expected by the Rare visits to industrial and construction sites during investigations
- The candidates should be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have experience in developing and delivering operational training programs, preferably in fleet management or related fields
- The candidates should possess knowledge of safety regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices
- The candidates should have advanced organizational and coordination skills
- The candidates should exhibit advanced communication and presentation skills
- The candidates should have proficiency in using training software, learning management systems, and other relevant tools
- The candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude and understanding are essential
- The candidates should maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equipment safety regulations
- The candidates should have Formal education, training, and occupational certifications required include Red Seal Mechanical certification in any of the following Red Seal trades: Automotive Service Technician (4 year), Commercial Truck and Transport Mechanic (4 year), Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (4 year), anada Safety Council Defensive Driver Instructor Certification (2-3 weeks), Air brake instruction certification (1-2 weeks), Current and valid Class 1 B.C. Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement (8-12 weeks)
- The candidates should have certifications in training and development and operational Certifications
- The candidates should be requested to substitute in a more senior position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to create training materials, manuals, and documentation to support learning objectives and organize and coordinate training sessions, workshops and educational events for fleet operations staff and collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs and develop comprehensive operational training programs for fleet staff
- The candidates should be able to develop and maintain a training schedule to ensure all staff receive necessary training within established timelines and to conduct training sessions, either in-person or through virtual platforms, ensuring effective delivery of content and engagement of participants
- The candidates should be able to utilize a variety of training methodologies to accommodate different learning styles and develop and implement safety training programs to ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, best practices and to keep abreast of changes in regulations and update training materials accordingly and to establish assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs
- The candidates should be able to monitor and assess the performance of fleet staff following training, providing feedback and additional support and to assess operator competence through courses and field assessments and issue verifications of operator competence
- The candidates should be able to maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and performance assessments and generate reports on training effectiveness, completion rates, and areas for improvement
- The candidates should be able to review driver abstracts to ensure operator status remains current; notify appropriate staff of irregularities on driver abstracts and maintain various records such as operator training, driver abstracts, vehicle incidents and fleet use
- The candidates should be able to stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to fleet operations and to propose and implement continuous improvement initiatives for training programs and materials
- The candidates should be able to investigate equipment and vehicle incidents review accident reports and recommend corrective training or upgrade courses for operators and review Maintenance trends and operational concerns, including Pre-trip Post-trip compliance
- The candidates should be able to communicate training updates, changes, and expectations to all relevant stakeholders and foster open communication to address questions and concerns from fleet staff
