Shifts: Flexible Hours
Transportation information: Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Restaurant, hotel, motel, resort, gas bar, supermarket/grocery store, and confectionery/corner store
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic cash register, Interact machine, and price scanner
Security and safety: Bondable and criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be capable of working under pressure, handling heavy loads, and performing physically demanding tasks while paying attention to detail
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be able to stand for extended periods as needed to fulfill job requirements
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate in their work and possess excellent oral communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and clients
- The candidates should be flexible in their approach to tasks, adapting readily to changing circumstances, and be team players, fostering a cooperative work environment
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to operate a cash register efficiently, process various forms of payment, and scan items accurately during the checkout process
- The candidates should be able to tabulate the total payment for goods or services purchased by customers, receive payment, and provide appropriate change if necessary
- The candidates should be able to calculate the daily or shift payments received, engage in suggestive selling techniques, and maintain cleanliness in the counter area
- The candidates should be able to greet customers in a friendly manner, accept reservations or take-out orders, and wrap or bag merchandise efficiently for customer convenience
- The candidates should be able to provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns, calculate foreign currency exchange accurately if required, and monitor entrances and exits to prevent theft
- The candidates should also participate in promotional activities to attract customers and increase sales, and verify the age of customers when selling restricted items
