Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Equipment and machinery experience: Alarms, Chillers, Compressors, Condensers, Cooling tower, Diesel generators, Distributed control system (DCS), Electronic controls, HVAC, Heat exchangers, Low pressure boilers, Pumps, Switches, Valves
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Stationary Engineer 4th Class and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks, be comfortable standing for extended periods, and be able to work at heights
- The candidates should be able to work in confined spaces, work in noisy environments, and be capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should demonstrate dependability and have efficient interpersonal skills and excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should be flexible and be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to co-ordinate maintenance activities of trade contractors, complete and maintain station records, logs, and reports, and analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunctions
- The candidates should be able to assist during routine systems testing, locate and isolate system problems, and help develop operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
- The candidates should be able to clean and lubricate machinery and equipment, investigate problems to fix or make minor repairs, and maintain a daily log of operation, maintenance, and safety activities
- The candidates should be able to monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctions and ensure plant systems are operating normally
- The candidates should be able to perform routine equipment maintenance and regulate water levels
