Summit Resort MPM o/a Blackcomb Springs Suites based in Whistler, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Maintenance person – building. Summit Resort MPM o/a Blackcomb Springs Suites is a premier resort destination offering luxurious accommodations and unparalleled mountain views. Situated slopeside on Blackcomb Mountain, the resort provides guests with convenient access to world-class skiing, hiking, and outdoor adventure opportunities year-round. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $24.15 to $26.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Whistler, BC
Shifts: Day
Work setting: Apartment/condominium complex, hotel, motel, resort

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Equipment: Power tools, power lawn mowers, swimming pool maintenance and cleaning equipment, and snow blower 
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks and be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel as necessary and handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to work in all weather conditions and work effectively under pressure
  • The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate dependability and possess excellent oral communication skills
  • The candidates should exhibit excellent written communication skills and show flexibility in their work approach
  • The candidates should take initiative, exercise good judgment, and be organized.
  • The candidates should be reliable

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems as needed, and contact tradespersons for major repairs when necessary
  • The candidates should be able to perform minor repairs on appliances, ensuring they are in good working condition
  • The candidates should be able to perform safety and security checks regularly, identifying and addressing potential hazards or vulnerabilities, and perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair, maintaining the appearance and condition of facilities
  • The candidates should be able to water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, ensuring they are healthy and well-maintained, and work with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • The candidates should be able to clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas promptly, ensuring safe access for residents and visitors during inclement weather
